Ingredients
1 cup white sugar
3 large eggs
14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
12 of oz of evaporated milk
1 tbl vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat oven to 350
In a large bowl, mix the eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk and vanilla extract
Whisk until smooth
Add sugar to saucepan over medium low heat
Melt sugar down until golden brown
Be sure to watch as it does not boil or burn
Once golden brown, pour sugar mixture into baking dish and spread evenly
Pour in custard mixture over the melted sugar
Add dish to a roasting pan to create a water bath
Make sure the water goes at least 1 inch up the side of the dish
Bake for 1 hour at 350
The flan should have a little jiggle to it
Let cool until room temp about 1 hour
Add the flan to the fridge so it can finish setting – about 3 hours minimum
Don’t be inpatient! 😂
When you are ready to serve, place the platter or sheet pan over the baking dish and flip
Remove the baking dish and let the caramel flow!
Serve and enjoy
Tip: to get that sticky caramel out of your pot, just boil some hot water and the sugar will evaporate. Put any utensils in that boiling mixture as well.
